During the month of January, Campus Ministries (CM) released their new sweatshirt with colors consisting of white and black, plus a unique pigment of yellow symbolizing joy, intellect, and thoughtfulness. Yellow was chosen as it’s an unfamiliar color on our campus and allows Campus Ministries to stand out from the rest.
The process of designing the logo came from a graphic designer Pastor Tim hired. The new symbol characterizes our school’s identity and this year's spiritual theme, “Abide.” Although the sweatshirt used to be only exclusive to CM, Pastor Tim had been told by various students that they felt excluded. Pastor Tim said, “That’s a huge thing I’m uncomfortable with because this is a space for all students and for all seasons.” Pastor Tim aspires for CM to become a more safe and inclusive place for all students, and students can now wear these sweaters. However, Ministry leaders have a different print: students who purchase the hoodie have a yellow logo while Ministry leaders have a white logo.
Pastor Tim has been planning future goals since early to mid-summer for CM such as “Living Life Abundantly” as the vision statement. The mission statement is to foster and grow the spirituality of students on campus, and the values are to abide in Christ, assemble in a community, and activate culture.
